New Year, New Home

This year is going to be a pretty exciting one, as I'm moving into my new (old) home.

Last year my mum sadly passed, leaving me the house I grew up in. The house hasn't been lived in for over a year, and hasn't been decorated well in over a decade! Needless to say, it's been in need of some TLC in the form of a lot of cleaning (mama smoked like a chimney), some much-needed building work, and a shit tonne of decorating.

Thanks to the help of my fabulous family and their friends, most of the base work has now been done on the house, so I need to start picking out things like flooring, skirting boards, doors, and paint. Once that's done, I can move on to the fun part - furnishing the place! Whilst I have all of the furniture I need to get started, I've had most of it for coming on ten years, so things could use a refresh (especially my sofa!), plus the house is much bigger than anywhere I've lived/furnished before, so it'll be looking pretty minimalist to start.

So with that in mind, below are a few of the things I've bought so far...

The Beaumont Small Tapered Vase in brass
The Cross Flat Top 27L & 3L Pedal Bin in black and copper
Hallam 4 Ceiling Light in light copper
Hallam 5 Ceiling Light in light copper
Storage Basket with Pompoms
Eye-Shaped Mirror

As you can see, I've mostly bought 'bits', but they were all in the post-Christmas sales, so it would have been rude not to! Now I need to find the staple things and sort out the all-important decorating before I can move in.

Wish me luck!
