A Baby Blanket for Sadie

Last year I took a quilting course and made my very first quilt (well, a baby blanket, but it counts!). I was amazed at how easy it was to transfer my sewing skills into quilting after a couple of hours of tuition - the hardest part was getting used to using a quilting rule and rotary blade.

Roll on several months and I finally decided to crack out my fat quarters to make a gift for my bestie's little girl, who will be joining the world in a few months' time. I let mama choose the fabric, and she decided to go with some bright and happy prints, featuring some adorable veggies and farm animals.

I'm so happy with how this turned out, I just hope the little lady likes it too when she makes her appearance!

A sideline thank you to Irene at Crafty Corner (aka my step mum) for showing me how to quilt and make a blanket in the first place! She does workshops in South Shields if you're interested in learning some new skills.

Peace & Love, Amy

Amy can often be found tangled up in a ball of wool or attached to an iPad, coffee in hand and sausage dog underfoot.
